Murtha Cullina Supports Teen Driving Safety
In October 2007 one of our staff members suffered a devastating loss: her two teenage children were killed in a car crash. Because of this, Murtha Cullina became a supporter of an organization called !MPACT (Mourning Parents Act) whose mission is to eliminate tragedies caused by inexperienced drivers through awareness, education and legislation. !MPACT is holding it's 2nd Annual Tee Off for Teen Driving Safety Golf Tournament on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at the Blue Fox Run Golf Course in Avon, CT. Murtha Cullina Scholarship Funds
A few years ago Murtha Cullina made the decision to turn the tradition of holiday giving into scholarship funds benefiting inner city children. In Connecticut, scholarship funds were set up at The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving and The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. The income of the fund is to be distributed annually to support scholarships to post-secondary institutions (accredited colleges or universities) for needy students from the Hartford and New Haven areas (with a preference for students from each city).
With the firm’s presence in Boston and Woburn, Massachusetts, Murtha is proud to support the Boston-based ACCESS Program, an independent affiliate of the Boston Plan for Excellence, established in 1985. The organization’s mission is to ensure that no graduate of a Boston public high school is denied the chance for a college education due to a lack of financial resources.

Employee Community Projects
Donations to a favorite charity, such as United Way, sponsoring fundraising events such as the MS Bike Tour for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and rolling up our sleeves to serve meals at MANNA Community Meals are just a few of the many ways employees at Murtha Cullina give back to the communities that support them. We participate in ongoing fundraising activities -- like monthly Jeans Days -- to provide much needed resources for local charities.
