Murtha Cullina Raises Money For New Haven Harkness House Facility

New Haven, CT (January 20, 2012) – The attorneys and staff of Murtha Cullina LLP’s New Haven office recently raised funds to benefit the Columbus House Harkness House facility. Together, the New Haven office raised $1,225 to support the organization’s homeless Veterans.

Columbus House Inc., located in New Haven, is a not-for-profit organization working to support people and families who are homeless, or those at risk of becoming homeless by supplying shelter and services to those in need.

“The staff and attorneys are thrilled to support an organization that is such a vital part of our community,” said Office Manager Anita Gawronski. “Homelessness among Veterans is a difficulty affecting too many, and it is our hope that this contribution provides the support and shelter our Veterans need.”

The money Murtha Cullina raised will specifically benefit the Columbus House Harkness House facility. The facility is a transitional housing program that provides support to male Veterans. The program’s goals are to provide stable housing for Veterans, increase access and connection to services, expand social and employment skills, grow self-determination, and encourage reconnection to their communities.
