Murtha Cullina Hosts WEB Event

September 14, 2012

Hartford, CT (September 14, 2012) – Murtha Cullina LLP hosted a women’s networking event Tuesday, September 11th in its Stamford office.

The event, which is part of Murtha Cullina’s women’s initiative ‘Women Expanding Business’ (WEB), brought together more than 50 of the state’s professional women for an evening of networking and socializing.

“Hosting these events is not only a terrific opportunity to network and build new relationships, but it is always a very rewarding experience,” stated Diane C. Bellantoni, Counsel at Murtha Cullina and WEB Chair. “Some of the best and brightest professionals are women, and through these events we can share their stories, celebrate their accomplishments and strengthen our professional relationships.”

Featured at the WEB event was special guest speaker Claire Leonardi, CEO and Executive Director of Connecticut Innovations. Ms. Leonardi opened with welcoming remarks and graciously acknowledged the significance of the date before offering a look into her professional career. She spoke about her role at Connecticut Innovations, her successes as a woman in the business world, the values of networking, and the challenge of balancing her work with family life.

Ms. Bellantoni also stated that, “Claire was the perfect guest speaker for our WEB event. She brings with her career successes and life stories that make her accessible and inspiring to the audience.”

WEB will be hosting women’s networking events in the future to continue its mission of promoting, supporting and encouraging the professional development of women in the firm and the community.
