Murtha Cullina Attorney Robert Kaelin Named Co-Chair of Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights Group

Hartford, CT (February 6, 2014) – Murtha Cullina Partner Robert E. Kaelin has been appointed Co-Chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Group.

Murtha Cullina’s Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Group has represented both creditors and debtors in bankruptcy, workouts, foreclosures and creditors' rights litigation for over 30 years. Firm lawyers have counseled parties involved in corporate and partnership restructurings, receiverships and dissolutions outside of bankruptcy. The firm also has assisted potential purchasers of assets from troubled companies both in and out of bankruptcy.

Mr. Kaelin represents clients in the areas of commercial litigation and bankruptcy. His commercial litigation practice centers on collection work, franchise litigation, and numerous types of business disputes. Mr. Kaelin's bankruptcy practice includes representing secured creditors, debtors and creditors committees in bankruptcy proceedings in Connecticut as well as proceedings around the country. He has assisted business debtors in several complex chapter 11 business reorganizations and has been special counsel to the chapter 7 and chapter 11 trustees in various matters. He also regularly represents commercial landlords in bankruptcy proceedings.
