HARTFORD, CT (January 25, 2016)…Murtha Cullina LLP has named Michael C. Harrington as Chair of the Firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group.
Mr. Harrington, a Partner at Murtha Cullina and a member of the Litigation Department, has devoted his practice to assisting private and public employers with all aspects of the employment relationship. Mr. Harrington regularly represents clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Connecticut Commission on Human Rights (CHRO), the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the Occupational Safety and Health Commission (OSHA), and the Federal and State Departments of Labor.
Under Mr. Harrington’s leadership, the Labor and Employment group will continue its long tradition of helping clients comply with their legal obligations and defending them against the full range of labor and employment law claims, including discrimination charges, unfair labor practices, pay disputes, and unfair competition.
Mr. Harrington has recently been appointed General Counsel of the Connecticut Public Employer Labor Relations Association (“ConnPELRA”). He is also a Contributing Editor to "The Developing Labor Law" and is an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut’s College of Law. Mr. Harrington served as a member of the Hartford County Bar Association's Board of Directors, and is a former Co-Chair of the Connecticut Bar Association's Young Lawyers Labor and Employment Subcommittee, and the Labor and Employment Section of the Hartford County Bar Association.
Mr. Harrington received his undergraduate degree from McGill University, with Great Distinction, and his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, summa cum laude.
