NEW HAVEN, CT AND HARTFORD, CT (January 3, 2017)…Effective January 1, 2017, Dena M. Castricone and Joseph B. Schwartz have been elected to the partnership of Murtha Cullina LLP.

Dena M. Castricone (New Haven, CT office) – Ms. Castricone is a member of the Long Term Care, Health Care, and Information Security and Privacy Groups. She has been with Murtha Cullina since 2003, most recently as Counsel.  She assists skilled nursing centers, physician groups, home health and hospice agencies, community health centers, senior living communities, and hospitals with a wide range of regulatory, compliance, and risk management issues.  Ms. Castricone is the Vice-Chair of the Office of State Ethics Citizen’s Ethics Advisory Board, serves on the Executive Committee of the LGBT section of the Connecticut Bar Association, and was recently elected a James W. Cooper Fellow of The Connecticut Bar Foundation.  She earned her B.S. from Roger Williams University and her J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law. 

Joseph B. Schwartz (Hartford, CT office) – Mr. Schwartz is a member of the Municipal, Land Use, and Construction Practice Groups.  He has been an Associate of Murtha Cullina since 2012.  Mr. Schwartz regularly represents municipalities, developers, businesses, and individuals in all phases of local land use approval and complex real estate litigation. His land use practice encompasses zoning, planning, subdivisions and inland wetlands authorities. He also represents owners, general contractors, subcontractors and sureties in a variety of construction-related disputes in state and federal courts, arbitration and mediation.  Mr. Schwartz serves on the Board of Directors of the Mandell Jewish Community Center of Greater Hartford, and on the Executive Committee for the Board of Trustees of the University of Connecticut School of Law Foundation.  He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Association of Water Pollution Control Authorities.  He earned his B.B.A. from The George Washington University and his J.D from The University of Connecticut School of Law.
