Hartford, CT (June 29, 2017)…Murtha Cullina LLP Partner Kari L. Olson has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Association of Municipal Attorneys (CAMA). 

The Connecticut Association of Municipal Attorneys is a professional organization of lawyers practicing in the field of municipal law. CAMA's principal objectives are to educate and inform the membership on legal issues affecting Connecticut municipalities; and advocate positions that advance local governmental interests.

Ms. Olson is a Partner in the Firm's Litigation Department, Co-Chair of the Firm’s Municipal Practice Group and Chair of its Connecticut Land Use Practice Group.  She received her B.S., Cum Laude, from the University of Connecticut and, in 1998, her J.D. with High Honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law.  She was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1998.  Ms. Olson is a member of the American Bar Association, the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Planning and Zoning Committee, the Hartford County Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association’s Municipal Law Committee.

Ms. Olson represents clients in general municipal law and land use litigation.  She is the principal contact as Town Attorney for Sterling, Lisbon, Cromwell and Portland, and secondary contact for Avon and Cheshire.  She also serves as Special Counsel to several other municipalities.  She represents municipalities in all matters of municipal concern and governance.  She also has represented several additional municipalities in land use or property right controversies and foreclosures, significant tax appeals, condemnation proceedings and other land use related municipal matters.  She has represented municipalities before the Freedom of Information Commission and in various other commercial litigation contexts.  In addition to providing general legal advice to municipalities, she frequently represents planning and zoning, inland wetlands and watercourses commissions, historic district commissions, redevelopment agencies, zoning boards of appeals and water pollution control authorities in courts at both the local and appellate level.  Ms. Olson also has represented various local health districts in the enforcement litigation context.
