Murtha Cullina welcomes Emily McDonough Souza as an associate in the Litigation Department.

Ms. Souza represents clients in a wide range of litigation matters, including insurance recovery. Her experience includes insurance coverage, professional liability, and business litigation. She has regularly appeared on behalf of clients in both state and federal court oral arguments, mediations, and pretrial conferences.

Prior to joining Murtha Cullina, Ms. Souza was an associate at a prominent law firm in New Haven, Connecticut, as well as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Eliot D. Prescott of the Connecticut Appellate Court. 

Ms. Souza received her J.D. magna cum laude from Quinnipiac University School of Law. In law school, she served as the Executive Managing Editor of the Quinnipiac Law Review. She received her B.S. magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut, where she was a member of the Honors Program.
