The New Americans with Disabilities Act: A Practical Guide to Complying with Expanded Federal and State Law
Join us for "The New Americans with Disabilities Act: A Practical Guide to Complying with Expanded Federal and State Law." Last year, Congress expanded the law's scope and broadened the definition of "disability." The EEOC just issued new regulations about compliance. Both state and federal authorities have placed an increased emphasis on the "interactive process," an essential element in finding a reasonable accommodation. Every employer needs to know the basics of how to address these situations.
This program will cover:
- Identifying disabilities
- Properly requesting medical information
- Establishing "essential functions" of a job
- Engaging in an interactive process
- Properly documenting accommodation issues
