Connecticut's New Paid Sick Leave Law: What You Need to Know to Comply
July 27, August 2, August 4, 2011
Effective January 1, 2012, Connecticut will become the first state in the nation to mandate paid sick leave. The law is ostensibly limited in the types of employers and employees it covers, but because the exceptions and exemptions are very particular and can be confusing, sound business planning dictates a careful review of the details of this ground-breaking legislation. You have less than six months to consider how the law may affect your business and your current paid time policies in order to determine a strategy for making sure that you are in compliance. This workshop will provide a quick and practical guide to complying with the new law.
What You Will Learn
- Is your organization covered by the law?
- Does your organization employ eligible employees?
- What changes do you need to make to comply with the law?
- Do your current paid time off policies satisfy the law?
Who Should Attend
- Human Resources Professionals
- Supervisors
- Business Owners
