Anne Hanford
Ms. Hanford graduated from Wellesley College (B.A. with Honors in English) and Suffolk University Law School (J.D. cum laude). She served as Executive Editor of the Suffolk University Law Review, and authored an article entitled, "Competition in Telephone Interconnection Equipment Market Fostered by Preference for Federal Regulation Over Local Regulation of That Market."
Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Hanford was selected to serve a one year term as Law Clerk to the Justices of the Superior Court of Massachusetts. In 1980, she was chosen Chief Law Clerk, a term which she completed in 1981.
Ms. Hanford joined the firm in 1981. Her practice encompasses the estate planning, health care and corporate departments of Murtha Cullina.
Ms. Hanford has served as Vice Chair of the Women & the Law Committee of Lex Mundi (a worldwide affiliation of select law firms), and as a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of Meritas (also a worldwide association of select firms). She is a Trustee of the Boston Ballet, where she is currently the Chair of the Development Committee and a member of the Governance Committee and the Education Committee, and previously chaired the Benchmarking Committee.
Ms. Hanford served as a Trustee of and Chair of the Nominating Committee for the Corporation to the Fernald School for the profoundly mentally retarded, and on the Board of Directors of the Boston Institute for Psychotherapy, where she chaired the Long Range Planning Committee. She was elected the first woman President of the Belmont Hill Club, where she also chaired the Nominating Committee and the Membership Committee. She is an Overseer of the Mount Auburn Hospital, a member of the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants, and a sustaining member of the Junior League of Boston.
