David Platt
Mr. Platt's environmental counseling practice involves site remediation projects (including Brownfield projects), environmental permitting and compliance matters, and transactional issues. Transactional matters encompass corporate and real estate deals, including liability transfer and environmental insurance matters. Mr. Platt has extensive experience with the Massachusetts Contingency Plan and Connecticut Transfer Act programs. His environmental litigation practice covers state and federal enforcement actions, and both government and private cost recovery matters (including Superfund cases).
Mr. Platt also has an active land conservation practice, including projects in which he assists land owners, municipalities and non-profit organizations in conserving open space, forest, and agricultural lands. This practice encompasses conservation easement projects in Connecticut, Massachusetts and other parts of New England.
In the American Bar Association, Mr. Platt served as Vice Chair of the Section of Environment, Energy and Resources, Superfund and Hazardous Waste Committee (2002/2003) and Site Remediation Committee (2003/2004), and served two terms as Chair of the Site Remediation Committee (2004/2006).
