Elizabeth Neuwirth
Elizabeth Neuwirth provides assistance to numerous health clients. She has handled medical staff bylaws, corrective actions and credentialing issues for a number of hospitals. Ms. Neuwirth has extensive experience in devising physician and hospital financial relationships which will comply with the Stark and Anti-kickback statutes. She advises clients on corporate compliance issues, EMTALA, and HIPAA obligations under both the Privacy and Security Rules. She has drafted and negotiated contracts of all kinds, including physician recruitment arrangements, the building of a medical office building and the outsourcing of a hospital IS department. Ms. Neuwirth is General Counsel to an upstate New York hospital. Before becoming an attorney Ms. Neuwirth worked in behavioral healthcare, and has a unique understanding of hospital psychiatric and substance abuse treatment issues and hospital-managed care relationships.
