The firm has an extensive and diverse municipal law and public finance practice. Murtha Cullina's lawyers have acted as general or special counsel to more than 50 municipalities, on matters covering the full gamut of issues typically faced by local officials, including planning and zoning, inland wetlands, water pollution control and sewer regulations, freedom of information matters, economic development, brownfield remediation, construction contracts, labor and employment, education, litigation, and municipal finance and bonding. The firm has also participated in drafting numerous land use regulations and municipal ordinances.

Our public finance lawyers represent political subdivisions and agencies as bond counsel, and also regularly serve as counsel to borrowers, issuers, underwriters, trustees and banks in fixed rate, variable rate, and enhanced and unenhanced public finance transactions.
