Employers often wonder whether they can take deductions from an employee's wages to recover money for losses caused by the employee's conduct. Massachusetts' highest court recently confirmed that the Massachusetts Wage Act severely limits an employer's ability to deduct money from an employee's wages -- even if the employee agrees to the deduction in writing.
