Real Estate/Finance Associate - Stamford

The Business and Finance Department of Murtha Cullina LLP is seeking a full-time real estate associate for its Stamford office.  The qualified candidate will have 3-5 years of experience with complex real estate and finance transactions; specifically, experience representing purchasers, sellers, lenders and borrowers.  An entrepreneurial focus and excellent drafting, organizational, communication and client relationship skills are a must.

Corporate Paralegal – Hartford

Murtha Cullina LLP is seeking a full-time, experienced Corporate Business Paralegal to join its Business and Finance Department in the Hartford office.  The ideal candidate must have a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills, and a minimum of 5 years of experience working on corporate and LLC law matters in a law-firm environment.  Experience in corporate and LLC transactions, such as selling and acquiring businesses, forming, dissolving and merging business entities; including both stock and non-stock corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships and benefit corporations.  Strong knowledge of preparing Applications for Tax Identification Numbers, Recognition of Exemption, a working knowledge of HUD transactions and Connecticut Department of Housing transactions. 

Specific duties include:

  • Preparing and maintaining corporate records, filing annual reports and maintaining minute books and other business records;
  • Drafting and preparing minutes, consents, stock certificates and related transfer documents;
  • Assisting with corporate and LLC document review and analysis;
  • Researching state laws regarding foreign qualifications, blue sky compliance and other business matters;
  • Preparing Audit Letters for distribution to auditors and clients
  • Drafting and arranging for UCC filings, amendments, assignments and terminations relating primarily to secured transactions, and conduct computerized lien searches;
  • Preparing closing checklists, coordinate closings, follow-up on post-closing items, including preparation of related closing indices and binders


  • Minimum of 5 years of corporate paralegal experience in a law firm
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate/business/LLC terminology, processes and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to work well with clients
  • Solid team player
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-starter; ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good judgment and decision-making ability

Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant – New Haven

The Firm is seeking a full-time Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA)for its New Haven office.  This position will assist in all aspects of litigation, including:

  • Opening of new matters
  • Tracking court schedules and calendars
  • E-filing in State and Federal Courts
  • Editing, formatting and final preparation of Appellate Court briefs
  • Drafting correspondence and preparation of pleadings
  • Scheduling deposition appearances
  • Management of the billing process for clients from time entry to final bills
  • Administrative support for group of attorneys


  • Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a Litigation LAA in a law firm environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
