HARTFORD, CT (May 30, 2014)…On Thursday, May 29, 2014, the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center (CVLC) honored Murtha Cullina LLP Attorney Eric Miller for his remarkable efforts in supporting Connecticut Veterans.  In celebration of the significant amount of pro bono work that Eric provides to CVLC, they organized a ‘Pop Up Pro Bono Pie Party’ in Murtha Cullina’s Hartford office.

This event recognized Eric for successfully representing veterans facing eviction. "I know when I hand a case over to Eric, the veteran is in good hands and will get the best possible representation," said CVLC staff attorney Cinthia Johnson. She added, "because of volunteers like Eric, CVLC is able to help more veterans facing a legal crisis."

Peter Arakas, President of the Connecticut Bar Foundation, joined in the celebration, along with staff from the CVLC and attorneys and staff from Murtha Cullina.  “Eric has been very active with his pro bono work representing veterans in eviction cases and is a valuable resource for the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center” said a Murtha Cullina Partner, “he also encourages other attorneys at Murtha to represent veterans as well.”

CVLC organizes ‘pop up’ pie parties to thank volunteers and also to recognize them in the convenience of their own offices, in front of their colleagues.  The pies were donated by Lyman Orchards and Bishop’s Orchards.
