Hartford, CT (March 2, 2015)...reSET, the Social Enterprise Trust, and Murtha Cullina LLP, today announced that Murtha Cullina will become a strategic sponsor of reSET. This sponsorship will help reSET to promote and develop social enterprise in Connecticut, and will expand Murtha Cullina’s brand and attract new business clients.

Murtha Cullina’s Entrepreneur Practice Group and reSET share common business values and goals ― entrepreneurship, innovation, social impact and using business as a force for good ― which has built the foundation for a strong partnership.

reSET has raised awareness in the business community and beyond that social enterprise is a viable, scalable model which creates jobs and economic development while solving some of the world’s most intractable problems. In the past two years, reSET has directly supported the development of 54 early-stage businesses associated with 41 jobs.

Murtha Cullina’s strategic sponsorship will move reSET closer to its goal of making Connecticut the social enterprise state, and becoming the go-to place for entrepreneurs who want to create businesses that make a positive impact in their communities. This is an exciting opportunity for the state, an opportunity to put Connecticut on the map as a central player in this growing movement. At the same time, it will strengthen Murtha Cullina as a community leader and champion of impact businesses.

To advance positive business impact in Connecticut, Murtha Cullina will make a contribution of cash and pro bono services to reSET and its members, providing professional services to entrepreneurs in reSET’s Accelerator Program, legal office hours, Business Breakfasts, and four entrepreneurial “pitch events” in 2015. A portion of Murtha Cullina’s contribution will provide funds for: 1) a full scholarship and co-working space for a team in reSET’s accelerator program, 2) the Social Enterprise Investment Fund, and 3) the cash purse for the 2015 reSET Impact Challenge and Awards.
