NEW HAVEN, CT (April 11, 2016)…On Thursday, April 7, 2016, the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center (CVLC) honored Murtha Cullina LLP Attorneys, Terence J. Brunau, Dena M. Castricone, Sarah Gruber, Rachel Snow Kindseth, and Eric B. Miller for their remarkable efforts in supporting Connecticut Veterans.  In celebration of the significant amount of pro bono work our attorneys provide, CVLC organized a ‘Pop Up Pro Bono Pie Party’ in Murtha Cullina’s New Haven office.

Staff from the CVLC and attorneys and staff from Murtha Cullina joined in on the celebration.  “Murtha Cullina attorneys have been actively representing veterans for the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center for many years,” said Murtha Cullina Partner Burt Cohen, who is the managing coordinator for the CVLC, “We are honored to provide pro bono services and be a valuable resource for our veterans.  Terence, Dena, Sarah, Rachel, and Eric have selflessly used their time and talents helping the men and women of Connecticut who have served our country.”

CVLC organizes ‘pop up’ pie parties to thank volunteers and also to recognize them in the convenience of their own offices, in front of their colleagues.

About CVLC

CVLC is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help veterans recovering from homelessness and mental illness overcome legal barriers to income, housing, and healthcare.  Located in West Haven at the VA CT’s Errera Community Care Center, CVLC’s model works to integrate legal services into the medical programs offered by the VA—making it the first medical-legal partnership that targets veterans in recovery.  The organization has worked with a network of over 550 volunteers to represent almost 1,000 veterans.
