March 24, 2017 - Suzanne Brown Walsh Named Chair of Uniform Law Commission Drafting Committee on Electronic Wills

HARTFORD, CT (March 24, 2017)…The Uniform Law Commission (ULC) has appointed Murtha Cullina LLP Partner Suzanne Brown Walsh as Chair of its new Drafting Committee on Electronic Wills. 

Ms. Walsh will lead the committee in drafting a uniform act that will address the formation, validity and recognition of electronic wills. As interest in electronic wills has increased significantly, this committee is important and timely for the estate planning community.  The Drafting Committee may also address electronic trusts, and end-of-life planning documents such as advance medical directives or powers of attorney for health care of finance.

The ULC is a national organization which promotes statutory uniformity. Ms. Walsh has served as one of Connecticut’s Commissioners on Uniform Laws since 2005. She chaired the ULC’s drafting Committee on the Revised Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act and is currently a member of the Regulation of Virtual Currencies Act and Directed Trust Drafting Committees. 

Ms. Walsh is a member of the Connecticut Bar and received her B.S. degree from Boston University and her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School.
