HARTFORD, CT (October 3, 2017)…Murtha Cullina LLP is proud to announce that its Appellate Practice Group has been recognized as a “Litigation Department of the Year” by the Connecticut Law Tribune. The Appellate Group was selected for this honor based upon professional excellence and its recent successes on behalf of several Firm clients.
The firm’s appellate matters last year encompassed many different areas of the law, including affordable housing and community development, construction and land use, labor and employment, automotive, insurance recovery, business litigation, product liability, trusts and estates, and municipal and administrative appeals.
Murtha Cullina served as the voice of the business community in several appellate matters. The Appellate Group represented the Connecticut Business & Industry Association as an amicus curiae before the Connecticut Supreme Court in two appeals. Other 2016 appellate successes on behalf of businesses included a construction company in a zoning appeal, an employer in an employment discrimination case, a policyholder in an insurance recovery suit, and a taxi company in a suit brought by a competitor. In addition, the Appellate Group also successfully represented municipalities before the Connecticut Supreme and Appellate Courts in appeals involving employment and land use issues.
