Murtha Cullina LLP has named David A. Menard as Chair of the Firm’s Business and Finance Department.

The Business and Finance Department includes the attorneys who represent clients in all aspects of corporate, securities, privately owned business, emerging companies, finance, tax, ERISA, intellectual property and real estate law.

Mr. Menard is also the Chair of the Firm’s Emerging Companies Group.  He has experience ranging from guiding start-ups in diverse industries to managing complex multi-national transactions.  Over the past five years, he has led transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $1 billion, and has provided guidance for more than 125 individual emerging companies. 

Recently, Mr. Menard led the legal team for Savant Systems in its acquisition of General Electric Lighting.  He regularly leads teams of attorneys from a variety of practice areas in a manner designed to ensure clients receive comprehensive and efficient solutions.

In addition to his law practice, Mr. Menard works with entrepreneurs throughout Connecticut by mentoring in entrepreneur programs at the University of Connecticut, Yale Tsai Center, and elsewhere.  He received his B.A. cum laude from Boston College and his J.D. with honors from George Washington University.
