Murtha Cullina LLP has named Robert E. Kaelin the Chair of the Firm’s Retail and Hospitality Practice Group.

The Retail and Hospitality Group which includes a dozen lawyers, represents real estate developers, owners and operators of shopping centers, and businesses within the hospitality sector, including restaurant and hotel chains throughout New England.

Mr. Kaelin represents clients in the areas of commercial litigation and bankruptcy.  Mr. Kaelin regularly handles various landlord/tenant law matters, representing landlords and tenants.  He also regularly represents commercial landlords in bankruptcy proceedings. He is a member of the Firm’s Litigation Department and is also the Co-Chair of the Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group. 

Mr. Kaelin is the Past President of the Hartford County Bar Association and is a James W. Cooper Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation. He is also an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and serves on the Connecticut ICSC Planning Committee.  He received his Bachelor’s degree from Miami University and his J.D. from Duke University School of Law.
