Partner Robert E. Kaelin was recently elected counselor of the Oliver Ellsworth Inn of Court.

The Inn is comprised of attorneys and judges from the Hartford, Connecticut area who convene monthly to discuss issues of legal significance. The Inn works to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility and legal skills. 

As counselor, Mr. Kaelin will serve to assist the president of the organization in recruiting new members, creating the pupillage groups and in administering the various educational programs sponsored by the Inn. In addition, Mr. Kaelin will succeed the current president as President of the Inn in 2022-2023.

Mr. Kaelin represents clients in the areas of commercial litigation and bankruptcy. He regularly handles various landlord/tenant law matters, representing landlords and tenants. He also regularly represents commercial landlords in bankruptcy proceedings. Mr. Kaelin is a member of the Litigation Department and is the Chair of the Retail and Hospitality Practice Group and the Co-Chair of the Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group. 

Mr. Kaelin is the Past President of the Hartford County Bar Association and is a James W. Cooper Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation. He is also an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and serves on the Connecticut ICSC Planning Committee. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Miami University and his J.D. from Duke University School of Law.
