Murtha Cullina LLP is proud to announce that three of its attorneys recently won Connecticut municipal elections.  Litigation Partner Kristen L. Zaehringer was elected to the Town Council in Hamden, Environmental Partner Patricia L. Boye-Williams was elected to the Board of Education in Farmington and Litigation Associate Emily McDonough Souza was reelected to the Board of Education in Milford.

Zaehringer will continue to represent Hamden’s 1st District on Legislative Council (where she had been previously appointed following the recent resignation of the former council president).  Attorney Zaehringer is a member of the Murtha Cullina Litigation Department.  She represents businesses and individuals in court, arbitrations, mediations, and before regulatory agencies.  She also advises businesses on employment matters and helps lawyers navigate the ethics rules and defend against legal malpractice claims.

Attorney Boye-Williams practices in the Environmental and Renewable Energy Practice Groups. She advises clients on regulatory compliance matters arising under RCRA, the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, CERCLA and related state laws.  Additionally, she has represented both renewable energy developers and renewable energy off-takers, including municipalities, in a variety of matters.  Attorney Boye-Williams served on Farmington’s Town Council from 2018-2019.

Attorney Souza has served on Milford’s Board of Education since 2020.  She is an Associate in the Murtha Cullina Litigation Department and the Labor and Employment Practice Group.  Her experience includes representing clients in a broad range of disputes involving insurance coverage, business torts, and contractual rights, as well as representing employers in claims involving discrimination and retaliation, breach of non-compete and restrictive covenants, and wage and hour violations.
