Dana Bucin was recently named Murtha Cullina's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee Chair. In this role, Dana is responsible for the oversight of the firm's diversity, equity and inclusion strategy and initiatives, ensuring that the firm’s core principles of equity, inclusiveness and diversity are reflected across its internal and external policies, work and practices.

As a partner and chair of the Immigration Practice, Dana works with diverse audiences when she represents businesses and individual clients in a wide range of immigration matters, including green card applications, work visas, student visas, foreign investor visas, asylum, naturalization, religious work visas, as well as various other employment and family-based immigration matters.

Very active in humanitarian work for a broad range of individuals across the globe, earlier this year Dana traveled to the Mexican border in California to help people from the Ukraine legally enter the United States. As Honorary Consul of Romania to Connecticut she then co-established the “Connecticut for Ukraine” Matching Program that helps Ukrainian refugees locate a CT sponsor. Last year she helped 70 Afghan clients with applying for humanitarian parole in the aftermath of the US withdrawal.

Dana has dedicated her career to defending the rights of vulnerable migrants who apply for U.S. asylum on account of political, ethnic, racial, religious or social group-based persecution in their home country. For her efforts to advance social justice for immigrants she was named the 2019 Attorney of the Year in Connecticut by the Connecticut Law Tribune and the United Action of Connecticut Social Justice Honoree.

Dana is a past Board member of the Connecticut Hispanic Bar, the Connecticut Immigrant & Refugee Coalition (CIRC), and a current board member of Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity (LCD), the World Affairs Council of CT (WACCT) and the American Romanian Coalition for Human and Equal Rights (ARCHER).
