MURTHA CULLINA ATTORNEYS TO FORM A NEW
RENEWABLE ENERGY AND EFFICIENCY INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION

Hartford, CT (March 19, 2010)… The Renewable Energy and Efficiency Practice Group at Murtha Cullina is forming a renewable energy, demand-side-management, and energy efficiency trade and advocacy organization to serve the interests, and expand the opportunities, of businesses operating in New England. The new organization – the Renewable Energy and Efficiency Business Association, Inc. (REEBA) – will be holding its first informational meeting on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 12:00 at the offices of Murtha Cullina, in Hartford, CT.

The purpose of REEBA is to focus on creative and innovative legal solutions to the ever growing and cutting edge needs and problems facing the renewable energy, demand-side-management, and energy efficiency industries. REEBA will intervene and actively participate in regulatory-related and rulemaking proceedings before state and federal public utility commissions and other tribunals, as well as policy proceedings at state legislatures, where the outcome of these proceedings may likely affect the continued development and deployment of renewable energy, demand-side-management, and energy efficiency in the region.

The formation of REEBA as a renewable energy, demand-side-management, and energy efficiency trade and advocacy organization is timely. For example, on Monday, March 22 the Connecticut State Legislature’s Finance, Revenue & Bonding Committee will be holding a public hearing that could raid the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund and the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund and severely cut clean energy and energy efficiency efforts in the state. These are the kinds of issues on which REEBA would represent the renewable energy, demand-side-management and energy efficiency industries.

To attend the REEBA informational meeting, please contact Jackie Rowe at 860-240-6140 or jrowe@murthalaw.com.
