Update on Bill Banning Most Favored Nation Clauses in Health Provider Contracts

One of the more interesting bills in the legislature this year is one that is designed to promote competition among HMOs, entitled "An Act Prohibiting Most Favored Nation Clauses in Health Provider Contracts," raised H.B. No. 6741. This bill received approval from the Insurance and Realty Committee on March 8, by a vote of 16 - 4. This bill has the strong support of the Connecticut Medical Society and various member physicians, and other provider representatives.
