Keri L. Wintle


 Ms. Wintle is an associate in the firm's Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Group, and represents trustees, corporate debtors, creditors and creditor committees in chapter 7 and 11 cases, including the firm's two chapter 7 panel trustees.  Ms. Wintle has advised chapter 11 debtors pre- and post-petition, by participating in negotiations with bondholders and other secured creditors for the use of cash collateral, drafting plans of reorganization and disclosure statements, handling Section 363 asset sales and other court supervised transactional matters, and administering confirmed plans through consummation.

Ms. Wintle also represents clients in bankruptcy related litigation, including the successful prosecution of actions to avoid preferential and fraudulent transfers and for orders of nondischargeability.  Ms. Wintle has first- and second-chaired multiple bench trials in Bankruptcy Court.  Her appellate experience includes filing briefs in both state and federal courts, such as the Courts of Appeal for the First and Third Circuits.  Recently, Ms. Wintle filed a petition for a writ of certiorari that is currently pending before the Supreme Court of the United States from the First Circuit’s decision in DeGiacomo v. Traverse.

Ms. Wintle earned her B.A. in 2004 from St. Michael's College and her J.D., cum laude, in 2009 from Western New England College, where she served as Assistant Managing Editor on the Western New England Law Review.  She is a co-chair on the Boston Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Section Membership Committee and was recently appointed by the BBA’s Pro Bono Committee to serve as the Overseer of a suspended attorney’s chapter 7 and 13 cases.  Ms. Wintle is on the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s Starry Night Committee, which is responsible for organizing an annual 8.5k race in Boston to raise money for childhood brain cancer research.  In 2014, Ms. Wintle made the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts Pro Bono Honor Roll.

In November 2013, Ms. Wintle authored The Evolving Application of Till on Cramdown Interest Rates for the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education’s Annual New England Bankruptcy Conference.  She spoke on a panel at the American Bankruptcy Institute’s 21st Annual Northeast Conference in July 2014.  Recently, she was selected for the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges’ NextGen Class of 2014.
