Leslie P. King
Leslie P. King is a Partner in the firm’s Litigation Department with a practice dedicated to all aspects of Construction law. Leslie represents residential and commercial owners in construction disputes and litigation, and provides contract drafting and negotiation services. Leslie also has extensive experience representing design professionals, including architects, engineers, landscape architects and interior designers. She has appeared in numerous mediations, arbitrations and litigation matters in state, federal and tribal court.
Leslie serves as lead attorney for the City of Hartford for all disputes arising out of the construction of a minor league baseball stadium, including the termination of the contractor and negotiation of a takeover agreement with the surety. The project was completed at no additional cost to taxpayers. Leslie continues to represent Hartford in all the ensuing litigation and other construction matters.
Leslie has chaired a panel for the Women of the Section of Litigation of the American Bar Association that focused on strategies for examination of expert witnesses. She regularly presents at the American Institute of Architects Connecticut chapter on legal issues affecting the design professional community, and has lectured at the Yale School of Architecture in their professional practices seminar. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation, dedicated to preserving the state’s historic architecture and neighborhoods.
Leslie received her B.A. from Wellesley College and her J.D. from the University of Arizona School of Law. She is licensed to practice in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and the Mohegan Gaming Disputes Court. Her application to practice in Arizona is pending.
