Samuel R. Volet


Samuel R. Volet is an Associate in the firm’s Energy, Environmental and Utilities Practice Group. He supports the group in advising merchant generators, renewable energy developers, industrial and commercial utility customers and water utilities on a broad range of regulatory matters.  While in law school, Sam completed an internship at the Connecticut Office of the Attorney General supporting the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority and an internship at the Connecticut Fund for the Environment.  He also assisted in drafting the City of Hartford’s photovoltaic and wind turbine zoning codes and the bylaws governing Hartford’s Energy Improvement District.

Sam received his B.A. cum laude in Geoscience from the University of Connecticut and his J.D. with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he received a Certificate in Energy and Environmental Law.  Upon receiving his J.D., Sam also received both the L. Stewart Bohan CATIC Foundation Award for excellence in real property law, and the Urban, State and Local Government Law Award from the American Bar Association for his work in the area of land use and municipal law.  He is working towards the completion of a Masters of Laws (LL.M.) in Energy and Environmental Law from University of Connecticut School of Law.

Overview
