Scott M. Gerard


Scott Gerard is a Partner in the Business and Finance and Real Estate Practice Groups and has been practicing in the areas of real estate, finance, and commercial law for over 30 years. He serves as the Chair of the Firm’s Community Banking Group. He was previously with the national accounting firm of Touche Ross (now Deloitte). His accounting background has been particularly valuable in his representation of financial institutions in structuring and closing commercial financings of all loan types, including both permanent and construction loans; asset based and commercial real estate mortgages in the areas of hotels; multi-family residential; health care/senior care; manufacturing; public/private partnerships; retail projects; tax credit financings; and many other areas; as well as in loan restructures and loan workouts.

Scott also serves as general counsel to many businesses and provides advice with respect to forming and structuring new business entities and joint ventures, as well as mergers, acquisitions and sales of businesses. In addition, he has represented major developers in all phases of real estate development.
