Michael C. Harrington and Louis B. Todisco will show participants how to manage the interaction of the various laws governing leaves of absence, including:

  • Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Connecticut Fair Employment Practices Act
  • Connecticut Paid Sick Leave Law
  • Connecticut Pregnancy Leave

The New Disability Law
Wednesday, March 14, 2012
Hugh F. Murray, III and Dena M. Castricone will walk participants through the intricacies of the ADA Amendments Act (ADAAA), including:

  • New definitions of "disability"
  • New reasonable accommodation requirements

Business managers, human resources professionals and supervisors will learn about the new requirements which the ADAAA imposes as well as what employers must do to provide accommodations that comply with the law, such as modified work schedules, leaves of absence, or reassignment.
