The Air and Waste Management Association Fall 2015 Conference will be held on Thursday, October 29th in Framingham, Massachusetts. The conference will highlight Organic Waste Bans which are going into effect throughout the Northeast.
Reducing and/or recycling food waste in an environmentally sound manner has been identified as a significant solid waste and air pollution problem by US EPA and the New England States. Several States, including Connecticut and Massachusetts, have adopted policies and legislation designed to ban the disposal of food waste in traditional solid waste disposal facilities. EPA and the US Department of Agriculture recently announced the United States' first-ever food waste reduction goal, calling for a 50% reduction by 2030.
