Strategies for Navigating Potential Governance, Contracting, and Other Common Liabilities

About the Program:

Nonprofits should always invest in mitigating their potential exposure to legal liabilities to ensure as much of their limited resources are ultimately focused on advancing their missions. But where to start?

In this presentation, we will discuss various legal risks that nonprofits should understand as well as ways to navigate these risks – from bringing on new board members, to preparing contracts, to utilizing volunteers, to structuring and vetting strategic collaborations as well as soliciting and utilizing donor restricted assets. We will also discuss strategies for identifying and avoiding common legal pitfalls.
