Partner Jennifer Morgan DelMonico has been elected to the American Law Institute (ALI), an exclusive group of the nation’s top attorneys, judges and law professors.  

ALI is the leading independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize and otherwise improve the law.  ALI’s distinguished members have the opportunity to influence the development of the law in both existing and emerging areas, to work with other eminent lawyers, judges, and academics and to contribute to the public good.

Election to the ALI is extremely prestigious, and is limited to attorneys who have demonstrated excellence in the law, are of high character, will contribute to the work of the Institute and are committed to its mission.

Ms. DelMonico is a trial lawyer for parties in complex commercial litigation disputes and defendants in tort and product liability actions. She represents clients in a broad range of industries, including advanced manufacturing, technology, medical devices, and health care. Ms. DelMonico was the Managing Partner of Murtha Cullina LLP from 2015 through 2020.  Prior to that, she served as the Firm’s Litigation Department Chair and New Haven Office Managing Partner. 

Ms. DelMonico is the Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Lex Mundi, the world’s leading network of independent law firms.  She is the Immediate Past Chair of both the Connecticut Business and Industry Association and the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce.  She is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC), the Executive Committee of the CBA Federal Practice Section, and the New Haven Inn of Court. She is also a James W. Cooper Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation.  

Ms. DelMonico has received numerous honors and awards, including the School for Ethical Education Ethics in Action Award, the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year Award, the Hartford Business Journal Women in Business Award, the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce Alumnus of the Leadership Center Award, and the DuPont Minority Counsel Network Diversity Sponsorship Recognition Award. In 2019 and 2020, she was named one of the Top 25 Women Super Lawyers in Connecticut, and in 2020 she was one of only two Connecticut business leaders listed on both the Hartford and New Haven “Power 50” lists.  

Ms. DelMonico received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern University.
